Here, we see a Millennial picture in which the oppression of false cultural influences, false beliefs and teachings, and corrupted priorities are no longer able to "oppress" the Lord's people. There will be no more scattering. Instead, the Saints will dwell in "chosen lands" given them as their inheritance. Lands become "chosen" as Temples are built and covenant-making becomes possible. Lands become "chosen" as the Saints are able to fellowship in peace, without oppressors and persecutors. And "oppressors" are made "oppressed" as the false cultural, political and educational theories of men are replaced with light and truth from God. This is a time when people see eye to eye, because they are in agreement that love is preferable to hate. They will prefer tolerance, forgiveness, and sharing, over anger, bitterness and hoarding. This freedom to follow God, unencumbered by the world's false theories and dogmatic intolerance of the truth, will bring a future Zion.
We will be emotionally and physically healthier than we are now. Should any of us spend a week with them, we would never return to the mess in which we now live. We are like the people whose cousin came to visit from the countryside. As night falls, the cousin complains she cannot sleep because of the traffic, noise, bad smells and lights. We think her odd and her complaints unwarranted. But when we finally visit her, we find ourselves disturbed by the quiet, and dark, and wonder where all those new stars came from. After a week, and adapting to her environment, we return home again. To our surprise, our place does stink, and is disturbingly noisy, and our sky is dimmed by the street lights that block the light of the stars. We conclude that all things considered, it's better where the cousin lives. So it is with the Millennial Day. We'd have to make an adjustment to fit in to such a place and time. It would be comparatively quieter than the turmoil we live in. But when we are finally adapted to it, we could never come back here.
