Animal Husbandry

Animal Husbandry is the keeping and tending of flocks and other animals. The people of Nephi raised “flocks of herds” and “flocks of all manner of cattle of every kind,” as well as goats, wild goats, and many horses (Enos 1:21).

In the land of Nephi, a king’s people were “watering and feeding their flocks” when Lamanites came upon them and took their flocks and field corn (Mosiah 9:14). After returning to their own land, the king’s people “again began to tend their flocks” (Mosiah 10:21).

Jared, his brother, their families, and their friends traveled to the valley of Nimrod with gathered flocks, “male and female, of every kind” (Ether 2:1-3).
