Lehi’s tent is the dwelling in which Lehi lived after departing into the wilderness with his family, provisions, and tents. Nephi stated, “my father dwelt in a tent” in the valley of Lemuel (1 Nephi 2:15). Nephi returned “to the tent of my father” after speaking with the Lord (1 Nephi 3:1).
Lehi’s family gathered at the tent after journeys in the wilderness. When Nephi and his brethren returned with Ishmael’s household, they came “unto the tent of our father,” gave thanks to God, and offered sacrifice and burnt offerings (1 Nephi 7:22). Nephi said that the things he had spoken occurred while his father dwelt “in a tent, in the valley of Lemuel” (1 Nephi 10:16).
Lehi went “forth to the tent door” in the morning and saw a round brass ball with two spindles, one of which pointed the way into the wilderness (1 Nephi 16:10). After Nephi brought slain beasts to the tents, the family rejoiced, humbled themselves before the Lord, and gave thanks (1 Nephi 16:32).
